Winter Photo Walk

I felt inspired this morning after capturing a couple nice photos of a blue jay outside my window, so I packed up my things and headed towards Rock Creek Park to take some pictures. I thought there was a chance I’d get some pretty snowy scenes, but the snow didn’t really stick. I walked up 27th St. in an attempt to find a way into Dumbarton Oaks Park. I thought I was headed in the right direction, but I just ended up on my usual trail through Rock Creek Park. As the snow turned to a slushy rain, I started thinking my walk was going to be a bust…and then I saw a little waterfall across the creek. I crossed at the bridge south of the Calvert/Connecticut Ave. intersection and walked through some muck to get there, but it was a pretty little waterfall right in the heart of the city. I followed it up onto a trail and what do you know…there was the start of the Dumbarton Oaks Park trail. I took it to the end, taking pictures all along the way and ended up in North Georgetown on Whitehall about a block from Wisconsin Ave. It ended being a beautiful walk!
